Kian's First Christmas

Mmmmm....

Now that Kian is into his seventh month, he is enjoying a variety of solid foods... As you can see by this picture, he likes to cover himself and his surroundings with squash and also enjoys apples!

And the winner is....

DADA!

Cody and I have been trying to get Kian to say mama or dada for a while now. Kian is babbling more and more these days and we've heard a few words mixed into the babbles. Today, though, Kian clearly said Dada without any extra babbles surrounding it. Of course, we know that he doesn't know what it means, but we're still proud parents. And the little elephant toy that Kian called Dada is pretty proud, too.

Kian is also able to sit unsupported for a longer period of time now, as long as we help him get into the sitting position. We've been trying to help him learn how to crawl, but he still still prefers rolling as his method of transportation.

6 months old on Thanksgiving

Thursday was quite a day for Kian! It was his first Thanksgiving and his half birthday! He wasn't able to eat the thanksgiving turkey, but he did enjoy some squash.

We celebrated Kian's half birthday with 1 and 1/2 birthday cakes.

Bananas!

Kian had his first taste of solid food yesterday! We're not sure if he ended up with any in his belly, but he did have plenty on his shirt and some on his face. He sucked on the banana a bit, but spent more time sucking on his hand while holding the banana. Guinness was the clear winner in this situation when Kian let him lick his hands clean.

Ambiturner

Kian is now an ambiturner! He's been rolling to the right for a while now, but he couldn't turn left. He happily rolled over to the left today, though.

Halloween

Kian had a great time on Halloween helping hand out candy to over 100 trick-or-treaters.

Go Sox!

We visited Sarah and Frank to watch the Red Sox in the playoffs. Kian got all dressed up in his Red Sox gear, but alas he was disapointed at the score. Poor kid has never seen the Sox make it to the World Series...

Kian's new Jumparoo!

Kian got a new Jumparoo to play in. He can't reach the ground yet, but a couple boxes underneath his feet fix that problem.

I think the title says it all.

Kian Moves Out

The day has come. It is time for Kian to move into his own room (maybe it was a little overdue). It also means he moves up from his pack-n-play to a crib.

Apples and Wine

We took a trip down to Nashoba Valley Winery for some apple picking and a winery tour today. We toured the winery with Kian in his bjorn and he seemed to enjoy looking around at the vats and barrels of wine.

First Baseball Game

Kian went to his first baseball game today. We went to see the Spinners play at LeLacheur Park in Lowell. Kian made it all the way to the 5th inning. I don't think he remembers who won.

Say Cheese

Kian is quite used to having his picture taken, but he had his first professional pictures taken today. He wasn't a huge fan of the photo shoot, but we did get a few cute pictures of the little guy.

Kian made a couple of new friends today. JJ and Katelyn were both also born in May.

Baby Houdini

Kian loves sleeping all wrapped up in a swaddle, but he always manages to escape.

Bath Time!

Don't believe the tongue sticking out. Kian really enjoys bath time.

Worn out

Needless to say, we are still getting use to this being parents thing. Kian is really wearing us out. It gives him a chance to sleep on daddy though, which he really enjoys.

Introducing Kian James Marnell

He's finally here! Kian James Marnell was born (six days late) on May 27, 2008 at 9:26 AM. He was 20 inches long and weighed in at 8 pounds 4 ounces. We're already in love.
