Blog revival!

Dear Kian,

In honor of your upcoming 2nd birthday, I thought it was about time that I revived this blog. You have become such an amazing, fun little person and I'd really like you to be able to look back on this when you are older. Your dad and I just looked at some pictures of you from last year and we can't believe how much you have already changed. You were an adorable baby, but now you are such a handsome little boy! Your personality comes out more and more every day and your intelligence never ceases to impress us. You are such a loving and caring little boy, as well - quick to share hugs and always ready with a please and thank you. Although, it sounds more like peeze and ta-tu right now. You've definitely began speaking more and more over the past few weeks, stringing more words together to form phrases. You are repeating everything we say... which means that daddy and I need to be careful!

There are so many fun things happening in our life with you right now and I hope I can record some of them here so we can all look back on the fun and funny memories that we have.

Love,
Mom

Kian's First Haircut

We decided that Kian could no longer pull off the mullet and it was time for his first haircut! He was a little bit wiggly, which was nerve-wracking with those big scissors near his ears, but he didn't mind getting his haircut at all.

Great-grandparents

Kian had a very nice visit with his great grandparents, Al and Rose, yesterday. We had a lunch of pizza and cheerios... pizza for the adults, while Kian dined on cheerios.

Family vacation to Florida

We traveled down to Florida in March to visit Kian's grandparents, aunt and uncle. It was our first vacation with Kian and it couldn't have gone better! Kian was so well behaved on the airplane ride that people commented that they didn't even realize there was a baby on board.

We spent most of the trip visiting with family and Kian loved being the center of attention.

We went to two Red Sox games while we were in Florida and Kian was given a baseball during each game.

Kian also took his first trip to the beach during this vacation. He had a great time in the sand (until he decided to eat a handful of it) and he was sure to wear sunblock!

Kian's first sledding adventure

We got about a foot of snow last weekend, so it seemed like a good time to bring Kian outside to play. We only made it to our backyard and we used his bathtub as a sled, but he didn't seem to mind. We're definitely looking forward to the warm weather, though!

...and she cooks, too!

Well, not exactly. I whipped up a batch of pureed broccoli for Kian the other day and although it did not get rave reviews from the grown-ups, it is a big hit in the baby world. Kian particularly enjoys it with a dash of garlic. Mmmmm... delicious!

Get up, Stand up

Kian is normally in a good mood when he wakes up in the morning, but this morning he was in a particularly good mood... He figured out how to get from a laying position to a standing position by himself!
